Can someone please explain more to me?

Does it actually work? (I think I’m gonna start the Spray) And if so what changes have you noticed most?

Hey Marty welcome to the treehouse

I found when I was on S1 (valerian) my sleep improved alot along with my moods, currently waiting for my S2 so my sleep is broken again but looking forward to being able to get a good night sleep :joy::joy: I’m sure other pioneers will give you a insight of their journey too

I found that it took a couple of weeks or so before I got into sleeping through at least 6 hrs before I started it was between 2 and 4 hours over 20 yrs. Since I stopped the valerian I seem to regularly get 6 hrs most nights sometimes more. On occasion I get about 4 hrs, but I’m delighted with the help it gave me. You have to be consistent for it to help and don’t give up if it doesn’t work immediately. I found if I had 3 sprays at 6pm then the next 3 at 10pm that did the trick. Just give it time.

Thanks for the feedback, I was starting to run out of hope for things to try and I came across this by chance. I can’t wait to try it out.

Sorry I hit the reply button too quick, how long did the s1 last?

If youmean how long did the liquid in the sprays last it was about 8-9 weeks. If you mean the effect of the valerian after the trial it’s been over 3 months since I stopped mine . I was delighted to have been able to have a 2nd lot of sprays so I could really see the difference it made to my sleep.

Yeah that’s what I meant, thanks for clarifying it. Well I’m going to try and keep trying, I’ve tried everything, this should be the game changer.

Like you I’d tried everything but just thought I’d just have to live with disturbed sleep and like you I stumbled across this trial and thought I’d give it a go… So glad I did, mind you the taste of the spray takes a while to get used to and it smells pretty bad too. My husband couldn’t stand the smell of the valerian so hoping the passiflora will taste and smell better.

That’s brilliant @Eevie … passiflora is entirely different as unlike valerian where we worked with root this time we are working with the whole plant. Also we have a new partner on board that is a global leader in fragrance and flavour and we collaborated in creating the three formulations for passiflora … I think the valerian S1 trial was the toughest tasting pioneer program as our new partner was able to take the favourite outcome and improve it … can’t wait to see what you think

It’s incredible to have you here with us on this journey @Marty … you know what makes our sofi different is that we are not trying to market a single product or formulation and seeing what marketing claims we can get away with. The idea is that we know these plants have the ability to impact us … we just don’t know who, when and how much. When we ran our first real world trial with the community here we were entirely blown away at just how incredibly individual everyone’s response was … and the main idea is that together we can discover if and when and how much any of these medicinal plants may improve how we each individually feel. We think that’s a much better way of going about it than trying to sell the same thing to everyone with the same set of claims.

Would this be ok to try with the sprays?

Let me bring in our lovely medical herbalist @pamelaspence … I have definitely read about the use of magnesium and I think B6 but she will be the expert on the subject … thx again for being here @Marty

Hi @Marty,

For me the S1 program with Valerian worked a little too well, and I had to stop using it as I was very sleepy all day long. Literally couldn’t keep my eyes open and it started affecting my work.

I’ve now started using S2 passiflora and the effects are very different and it is much tastier  As I mentioned somewhere else, I am having quite vivid dreams this time around and my sleep is much less broken. It’s still early days but I’ve had a few days where I actually woke up feeling rested, which is something that has been a long time coming. I often wake up after a night of sleep and still feel tired all day, but have had a few times now where I actually feel I’ve had a proper solid nights sleep, with energy in the morning.

I hope you are having a great day!

Hi Marty,

I’m Pamela and I’m the medical herbalist here at Team Sofi  Welcome to the Pioneer Programme!

Magnesium is perfectly safe to take with our herbal formulas. It is a mineral that we all need access to on a daily basis for many processes in the body - unfortunately most of us are deficient in it these days so supplementing our diets with it is helpful for most people. It has specific implications for sleep and anxiety too so many people here in the sofi community have spoken about it. If you search for magnesium in the chats you will find some interesting threads discussing it.

Magnesium comes in many different forms - most common is probably Magnesium carbonate, however if you can find Magnesium glycinate that is the one that is most often recommended to help with sleep.

Hope that is helpful? :herb:
