Battery charge not holding

I don’t know if anyone has noticed that sofi’s battery charge doesn’t last long. I seem to have to charge it twice a day, don’t know if that’s normal? I couldn’t record my 1st lot of sprays last night as sofi was out of charge, so my spray count is down by 3. Will monitor it and see if it changes.

This is super interesting @Eevie … does the pod red light go out if you charge it fully before you unplug … and when you leave your sofi pod on the table does the blue light for pairing keep on or does it eventually go out? Also; not sure why, but when you close your work app … can you fully shut down the app? Would be good to check also your mobile type as well as the version of sofi app you’re running … adding @alexwalkerjones and @Kirill here … love to give our electronics engineer maximum feedback so we can dig into it … the next gen sofi pods will have a battery % in the app and circuit so will make understanding this a lot better

Hi thanks for quick reply. The red light goes out when I plug it in, the blue light flashes when unplugged it does eventually go out, I have to make sure I lock the pod though. I charged it for nearly 4 hrs last night before unplugging it so will see today whether it needs a charge. As you mentioned there’s no way of knowing how much charge is left but it’s much better than having to buy batteries :grinning:

The battery has lasted 24 hours and still holding, I mustn’t have charged it long enough. Hope it continues

Hi, have to plug mine in each time I want to connect as I’m being told pod not connected. I plug my charger in and immediately unplug it and it connects straight away. The red light shows continually until unplugged regardless of charging time. Goes green when unplugged. Samsung S8 running Android v9 / sofi app v3.1.0

My one last really well much better than the old pods

Hmm @CjaJose this is very interesting, and obviously not desired!

Do the app then maintain the connection over time, or you’re forced to plug it back in every time you go spray?

@Kirill, any ideas?

I was wondering the same thing if you had to plug it in every day. The pod light was extra bright and flashing last night after I closed the app. So I thought it’s really draining the battery when not in use.

I’ve not had to charge it yet for a week so far. Tagging @alexwalkerjones

Hi, @alexwalkerjones , seems I’m having to plug it in each time I want to connect with the app.

Hi @Kirill , there appears to be a glitch in the app with regard to journaling. After finishing journal it says Thank you but then reads Journal done for today. If you then tap this message the app returns to the bubbles screen allowing you to select the chosen bubbles but also adding more beans for you.

Not a glitch! We are just always happy for you to journal more with bubbles later in a day  There’s a 25 seeds/day cap though!

Thanks @Kirill, good to know.

I’m also having to charge the pod every time.

Friday it was plugged in all day while I was at work. As soon as I unplugged it, the blue and green lights lit up. There wasn’t any charge when I went to spray at night. So the Bluetooth looks to be draining the battery even when the app isn’t open.

When I leave my stick at home in other room than where I sit on phone. Stick lasts a week, if I’m carrying it with me throughout the day then

It’s actually movement that turns the stick on. Not Bluetooth.

So if it’s on your person all day then it’s activating itself all day and why the battery isn’t lasting

So the electronics on board the sofi brain are power hungry and we need to find clever ways to put sofi to sleep when she is resting … I have been carefully watching and tracking my sofi pod … takes me just under 90 minutes to power up from total flat … and when I have charge and throw my pod in my bag walking around all day I manage to drain my sofi pod in three days … the target I’ve always been thinking about is that sofi pod needs to go a full weekend away without needing a charge … so on my side I’m seeing that in use and I’ve cycled mine a few times (on my third Ashwa capsule ) … but love to hear your experience …

Here’s another interesting behaviour I noticed with my sofi pod tonight … it was blinking even when I was turning off all bluetooth signals and closing the app out … I have shared with this the team, but love it if you capture any interesting behaviour or observe anything unusual when your sofi pod is on stand by … and she’s still trying to tell us something!! :slightly_smiling_face:

If she’s not plugged in she’s trying to talk to my tablet the whole time. They sit together on my dresser and I don’t bring her to work with me.

She’s clearly got a lot to say ! :face_with_hand_over_mouth:… Mine did chill out after ten minutes so clearly just a monologue … but worth keeping an eye on these and we will see if there are bits of firmware we can improve on in the next build … in the meantime wishing all a wonderful and restful night … enjoy the Ashwa to the Pioneers already in the wave!
